Vehicle inspection before disposal
Fleet services

Support beyond the vehicle order.

End-of-contract preparation and disposal support that helps your fleet stay productive and keeps avoidable costs under control.

Make every stage of the fleet journey easier.

Automotivate supports customers throughout the vehicle’s working life, coordinating lease-return preparation, repairs and disposal through one experienced team.

This service works alongside our fleet management support, so administration and disposal can sit under one relationship. If you’re replacing the vehicle at the same time, we can also help you find its replacement, whether through vehicle sourcing or Automotivate Leasing.

Prepare, repair and dispose with costs under control.

We collect vehicles, carry out detailed pre-inspections and coordinate cost-effective repairs against BVRLA Fair Wear & Tear standards before handover, sale or auction.

  1. 01Collection & inspection

We collect the vehicle and complete a detailed pre-return inspection against BVRLA Fair Wear & Tear standards.

  2. 02Repair scoping

Out-of-standard damage is identified and priced before any work begins, so there are no surprises.

  3. 03Repair & preparation

We coordinate SMART repairs and other agreed work through our network to bring the vehicle up to standard.

  4. 04Handover, sale or auction

The vehicle is returned to the funder, or we support sale or auction where that’s the right route.

What to expect from the service.

01What counts as damage beyond Fair Wear & Tear?+

We assess vehicles against the BVRLA Fair Wear & Tear guide, which sets out acceptable wear for bodywork, interior, tyres and mechanical condition. Anything outside that guide is flagged before handover so you can decide whether to repair it or accept a recharge.

02How long does the disposal process take?+

Timescales depend on the vehicle’s condition and any repairs required, but most vehicles move from collection to handover, sale or auction within a few weeks. We keep you updated at each stage.

03Do you carry out repairs yourselves or manage them for us?+

We coordinate SMART repairs, dents, wheels, glass and trim work through our network on your behalf, so you don’t have to source and manage individual repairers.

04Do you handle the sale or auction directly?+

We can support sale or auction where required, working alongside your usual disposal route or the leasing company’s own process.

05Does this only cover leased vehicles?+

No. The service supports owned and leased vehicles that are coming to the end of their working life with your business, not just contract-hire returns.

06Can this run alongside our existing fleet administration?+

Yes. It’s designed to fit around however your fleet is currently managed, whether that’s in-house or through our fleet management service.
